ELECTRIC MALADY

FEATURE DOCUMENTARY & INTERACTIVE ONLINE EXPERIENCE

Director, Marie Lidén, grew up with a mother who suffered from an illness that the world did not recognise - Electrosensitivity. Years later, in a technologically advanced world, Marie gives a poignant account of the lives of two electrosensitives: William, a 40 year old Swedish man and Tyler, a 12 year old Canadian boy. Using Marie’s own family story as a thread, the film explores William and Tyler’s isolated worlds and their families’ unrelenting commitment to help their children.

GIRLS OF CULTS

FEATURE DOCUMENTARY

In 1979, in the Scottish village of Cults (Aberdeenshire), a group of schoolgirl percussionists were creating unique sounds and rhythms that would resonate 40 years later. After the critically acclaimed re-release of their school recording on eclectic record label Trunk Records, we catch-up with the girls, now inspiring and powerful women in their fifties. Many are still playing and teaching percussion professionally and the film explores the impact of musical exploration on impressionable young minds and its empowering legacy, passed down through generations. With the most famous member of the group, Dame Evelyn Glennie, spearheading a reunion concert with her former classmates, 2018 is set to bring the music of the ensemble centre stage again. Girls of Cults: a story of vinyl archaeology, inspirational teaching and the art of percussion.
